Surfhouse
This is one of the first restaurants I went to in Barcelona, and I became obsessed. The menu has a wide range from burgers, to poké and lobster rolls – think fast food, but healthy. EVERYTHING that I’ve tried there has been tasty, and I’ve admittedly been quite a lot… My favourite by far is the duck bao buns, but they’re not overly filling so I’d recommend getting some fries with the Sriracha Thai mayo! They also do really great drinks deals, such as a bucket of 5 beers for €10… bottoms up!

Kaymana
This restaurant is a neighbour to surfhouse and serves healthy Poké and brunch. All the food is refreshing, and it is said to have one of the best vegetarian burgers (though I haven’t tried it myself!)

Bacoa
This restaurant is a chain, so they’re dotted all over the city, but I’m sure that a beautiful view and the sea breeze will make your burger all the more delicious. Here’s how it works – you get a sheet with all the options, choose your burger and as many fillings as you want, take it up to the bar and they’ll bring it out for you! Customised to your exact desires, quick and delicious. I recommend getting the Teriyaki glaze, it’s honestly something else.

Taco alto
This isn’t necessarily the cheapest place to get tacos, but it is the tastiest near Barceloneta. You can also order the tacos individually, so you can try as many flavours as you want! They often have deals outside, with tacos and beers for a selected price, so keep an eye out… and don’t forget to try the spicy sauces!

Poké Maoli
I’m a sucker for Poké, especially when the sun is shining and I need something refreshing. Poké Maoli is a takeaway restaurant with fresh, hawiian ingredients, in customised bowls of various sizes to make your perfect Poké.

Makamaka burger
Burgers, beach and beers – What more could you want? Maybe cocktails? Well they have plenty of those too. This burger shack has tonnes of original burgers to choose from with different fillings, and the garlic and parmesan fries are a perfect side to go with. If you’re torn between here and Bacoa – this is more of a sitdown meal, where Bacoa is more of a quick delicious fix!

Palmito Beach Bar
This place is a little walk down, so it might be a push to say it’s Barceloneta per se… but it is definitely worth it – and when was a stroll down the beach ever a bad thing? This place literally defines cool vibes. It is a little more on the expensive side, but the croquettes are creamy and perfect and it’s a great place to go, even if just for a drink or two.

Brunch and Cake (by the sea)
Healthy comfort food and brunch all day long. Although this is a chain around the city, this particular restaurant is their newest opening, and it is always queued up outside to get in! All the food tastes as good as it looks, worthy of the gram, and your tum.

La Deliciosa
This place is literally on the beach, so it’s in a perfect location, but this also means the prices are budged up a little. That being said, the food is pretty good, and it’s a great place to sit and have a drink… or five. (Go hard or go home?) They also do service on the beach on sunny or busier days so keep an eye out and eat from your sunbathing spot!

Las Fritas
This food stand is absolutely my guilty pleasure. It almost seems a crime to stuff your face with Frites before going on the beach, but it is SO worth it. They sell Frites in different portion sizes, with tonnes of different toppings and sauces. I always go for the Brava and the Alioli sauce, but be warned, the Brava is a little spicy and the Alioli is VERY garlicky (And I say that in the best way possible… enjoy).
